Is that you in this video?

If you spend any amount of time on the water, you have either witnessed or participated in at least one of these accidents in the video.  I remember my father taking my brothers and me out on a local lake to spend the afternoon paddling around in the family canoe.  We decided to stop at a small island and stretch our legs for a bit.  After a well deserved rest, we began to climb back into the canoe.  One of my brothers began to step in at the same time as my father, which caused the canoe to rock.  End result: Dad took an unwanted swim off the edge of a dock!  My brother, being more agile, was able to jump back in time.  I imagine my father had a very soggy ride home.

Our story, like those in the video, ended well and created a funny memory for those of us involved.  Some mishaps, though, do not end as nicely.  This is where Safashor (read: safe-a-shore) comes in.  Safashor is a new company which manufactures products, such as gangplanks, which allow boaters to safely enter and exit their vessels.  Safashor products are still in production and will be available for sale later this year.  Questions?  Feel free to contact the company's founder, Steve Resta, directly at safashor@comcast.net.  You can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter via the links on the right.  We look forward to sailing with you!
